Give Back This Holiday Season With Manning Town Centre

It’s that time of year! To cozy up by the fireside, to come together with loved ones– laugh, feast, and cherish time spent with friends. It’s a time to be grateful and among many other things, it’s a time to give back. Many of us are incredibly lucky to have a place to call home, own gloves and a winter jacket, and not worry where our next warm meal will come from.  For some, this may not be the case. This year we want to help make giving easier by highlighting the wonderful stores at Manning Town Centre who are giving back in wonderful ways and that need your help in making a family-a child-or a person in need’s holiday a little brighter.

Tell us how you are #MTCGivingBack in the submission below.

Pasta Pantry

Buy a meal, give a meal to someone in need

We’re hungry for this holiday giving! For every large “mac and cheese” purchased starting November 18th (dine in or take-out), Pasta Pantry will donate a non-perishable food item to the Edmonton Food Bank. If we needed an excuse to enjoy pasta guilt-free, this is it. Round up your family, tell your friends, because the “fasta” you enjoy pasta, the “fasta” you go home satisfied knowing that just by having a delicious meal, you helped provide one to an individual and/or family in need too.

Subway

Round up your purchase to help kids “never miss lunch”

A little goes a long way. Stop into Subway and have your purchase rounded up with the difference going towards the “Never Miss Lunch” program! Did you know that 300,000 Canadian children struggle to get food each month? The “Never Miss Lunch” program helps close this gap by delivering wholesome meals to children through Food Banks Canada. Have a little one? Every “KIDS PAK” kids meal purchased, a portion of those sales go directly to Food Banks Canada.

Thai Express

Drop off toys for Santa’s Anonymous

From November 20th – December 8th, Thai Express will be playing elf on behalf of Santa’s Anonymous. What better way to enjoy a Pad Thai than knowing you just dropped off few toys for kids in need in the collection box? Eat in peace knowing you’ve done your part. Santa’s Anonymous is looking for new toys that are unwrapped.

Cabela’s

Get your gifts wrapped by donation and drop off toys while you’re at it

Let’s work together to help children from low-income families experience the joy of a new toy on Christmas Morning. Cabela’s will begin collecting toy donations from November 23rd through to December 24th. Plus, on the weekend of November 30th, every family that donates a toy will receive a free $25 photo package with Santa! Aren’t able to donate a toy? Get all your gift wrapping done in one place! Every weekend in December until December 22nd, Cabela’s will happily wrap all your gifts ready for you to take home. All donations will go directly to the Ronald McDonald House Charities Alberta (no minimum donation required).

Pure Orthodontics

Donate jackets and other cold weather items

We all know winters are harsh. It’s even more harsh when you’re not equipped with the proper clothing. Pure Orthodontics is accepting donations for jackets, gloves, hats and any winter gear; drop by any time during clinic hours to do your good deed of the day. All items will be donated to United Way’s “Coats for Kids & Family” that will help those in need stay warm this season. A simple donation (like a pair of gloves!) goes a long way. A donation bin is set up at Pure Orthodontics for a convenient way to pay it forward.

Petland

Give spare change to raise hope for animals

If you’re not an animal lover, you know someone who is. Stop by Petland in the month of December until Christmas Eve to donate your change to “Paw For Hope”, a campaign that raises funds to assist with fulfilling the various needs of rescues.
